FrameQuery 1.2.8: Voice Previews and Processing Fixes
Scrub voice previews, open the source moment and search a person's footage. Plus reliable cancellation, silent-video recovery and a clearer dashboard.
FrameQuery 1.2.8 makes it easier to check a detected voice before you give it a name. The People tab now shows the source clip, the spoken interval and a waveform you can scrub. This release also fixes processing requests that started after a dialog was dismissed, and silent videos that could wait indefinitely for a transcript.
Listen, check the source, then assign a name
A generated voice ID tells you little about who is speaking. Voice cards now lead with the source filename and the preview's time range. The waveform comes from that preview's audio, so different recordings have different shapes.
Drag the timeline to a point, play, pause and resume. Seeking while paused keeps the chosen position without starting audio. Click the filename to open the source clip at the same spoken interval. If a preview cannot be loaded, the card shows a retryable error instead of substituting unrelated audio.

A voice you can check before you name it.
Drag a waveform or try Assign with the example person, Sarah Chen.
Use Assign to link the voice to a person, including creating the first person in a new collection. You can search directly from an unnamed voice, or search a named person with a query such as @"Sarah Chen". Results follow your current project and search filters.
The voice collection also has a source search, sorting and pagination. You can work through a larger library without a long horizontal strip. The people-search guide covers naming, off-camera speakers and troubleshooting missing matches.
Closing the setup dialog cancels the request
If you clicked Process all and closed the first-processing setup dialog, the app could still start the batch. That dismissal handler called the same processing callback as Continue.
X, Escape and clicking outside now cancel that request. The prompt stays available for a later Process click, and only Continue starts the requested work. Opening or closing the optional People setup wizard does not confirm processing.
Cancellation after a batch has started is fixed too. The app removes waiting extraction work before it releases active slots, and late setup or upload callbacks cannot restart the cancelled videos. Work already processing in the cloud may still finish, as described by the batch-cancel hint.
Silent clips can finish without a transcript
A video with no audio track should finish when its visual analysis is ready. Previously, some silent clips could remain in Processing or Transcribing even though their scenes had already been saved.
When the server confirms that a clip has no audio, FrameQuery now completes it with its scene results and shows No audio in the job receipt. It does not invent an empty transcription step or leave voice-processing timers running. Clips with audio still wait for their transcription results.
For already-analysed silent clips that got stuck, the desktop can recover the existing cloud results after you sign in and reconnect. That recovery case does not require another upload or another cloud analysis run. Completion retries replace the video's search entries so repeated recovery does not add duplicate scene matches.
A clearer manager and dashboard
The dashboard distinguishes an empty library from unavailable data, and offers Retry when a request fails. Valid data stays visible during a failed refresh. Monthly additions show the actual monthly count.
The quota strip stays at the same height when you select videos. Plan colours now carry through the badge, meter and dashboard: Silver for Free, Sky blue for Starter, Rose for Pro and Gold for Max. Quota graphics also show true empty and full values.
People setup handles existing consent more consistently, and the update removes a conflicting database-lock order during biometric work. Card actions and menus have clearer keyboard focus and more consistent targets.
How to update
After updating, sign in and let existing processing jobs reconcile before retrying them manually.
For the revised voice workflow, start with finding people in video. For queries that combine a person with dialogue or visual details, see the search guide.
Install the update through FrameQuery, or use the download page for Windows and macOS on Apple Silicon.
