A few things to know.

How does this relate to FrameQuery?

Quote to Clip is a small, free browser tool for one recording. The FrameQuery app helps you search whole video libraries by scenes, spoken words, people and objects, with review and sharing tools for your workflow.

What gets uploaded?

The browser extracts a bounded audio track and sends that audio for transcription. The original video and its filename stay on your device.

Can I choose exactly where the clip starts and ends?

Yes. A quote selects its surrounding transcript sentences with a little breathing room. Listen to the preview and adjust both cut points before exporting. Transcription provides sentence-sized timestamps, so it does not automatically know every word boundary.

Can I join lines from different parts of the recording?

Yes. Select multiple transcript lines, including across different searches. The selected parts join in their original recording order, leaving out the gaps. You can adjust or remove each part before exporting. Overlapping cuts are combined so the same moment does not play twice.

What file do I get?

Video clips keep the original picture and sound, up to 1080p without upscaling. MP4 is preferred when the browser supports its encoders; WebM is offered where needed. Audio-only recordings export as WAV. Clips can be up to two minutes long.

Can I transcribe a silent video?

A silent clip has no spoken transcript. Noisy or unclear speech can also produce mistakes, so the tool should be used as an aid to reviewing the original recording.
