FrameQuery 1.2.5 adds live progress for every indexing pass, fixes the per-folder AI toggles, and drops the 20 GB free-space requirement for scanning.

What's new in 1.2.5

  • Live progress on every pass: extraction, upload, faces, bib numbers, visual index and voices each show a percentage while running.
  • Per-folder AI toggles now work: right-click a source to set face recognition, voice ID or bib detection for that folder. Previously saved but ignored.
  • Bib numbers per folder: bib detection added to the per-folder menu.
  • Low-disk scanning: scans run with under 20 GB free and warn once. Only under 2 GB is refused.
  • Process button: selecting more footage than your credit covers opens the plan chooser instead of graying out. You can process the clips that fit.
  • Quests survive a restart: the checklist and bonus minutes stay after relaunch. A first video processed while the app was closed is credited on the next launch.
  • Update without stopping a batch: clicking Update while clips are processing downloads the new version and waits for you to restart.
  • Ready to upload: extracted clips that have not been sent say so.

Per-pass progress

Each pass reports its own count. The pill for the active pass fills with a percentage and the row names the pass, for example "Faces 62%". Passes that never ran on a clip, because the feature was off or the model was missing, read as pending instead of amber.

Per-folder AI

Right-click a source and open AI Features. Each detector can be on, off, or inherit the global setting. Overrides now persist and each local pass checks the folder's setting before running. Turning bib detection on for a folder downloads the bib model if needed. Scene detection has left the menu because it always runs.

Face and voice processing stays on your device and consent-gated, as before.

Disk space

The old 20 GB requirement fired on first scans of small folders and fired early on macOS, which reports free space without purgeable files. Under 20 GB now warns once and continues. Under 2 GB refuses with the free amount shown. Processing checks the same 2 GB floor per video.

Fixes

  • Process button grayed out with no way forward when a selection exceeded credit.
  • Onboarding checklist disappeared on the first relaunch after processing.
  • First-video quest bonus was lost if the app was closed before processing finished.
  • Per-folder AI overrides were ignored and vanished from the menu after a restart.
  • Extracted clips not yet uploaded showed an upload timer.
  • Faces are hidden in the People tab until their index has finished building.

How to update

FrameQuery checks for updates on launch, or download for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows from the download page. If clips are processing when you click Update, the new version downloads in the background and a Restart button appears. Nothing needs re-indexing.
